Tommy’s memoires will be published this fall + news about 2015 Spring Collection

The famous designer Tommy Hilfiger will publish his memoires in a book. We will find out detailes about his childhood, about his origins in the fashion industry, about the difficulties he had, the determination and succes, things that helped him to build his global brand worthing bilions of dollars. “Reflecting on the experiences I had in the fashion industry in the past 30 years, I think this was a real adventure, full of important moments that influenced both my carrier and personal life”, said Hilfiger.

Hilfiger, now at the age of 63, is known for his clasic all-american style, which combines pop culture with the East Coast preppy lifestyle. Born in Elmira, NY, Tommy was the second child from the nine children of his family. He opened his first clothing store in 1969, when he was at high school. The fashion brand Tommy Hilfiger was launched in 1985 and extended very quickly, including womenswear, Hilfiger Denim, kidswear, accesories, flagrances, home decorations and other categories. In the 90’s he was one of the first designers that choose to do a mix between fashion and celebrities, and he sponsored the music tour of the great rock band The Rolling Stones. He also worked with famous musicians like Lenny Kravitz, David Bowie, or with the beautiful Beyoncé, in his advertising campaigns.

In 2012 Tommy Hilfiger received the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award at the CFDA Fashion Awards (Council of Fashion Designers of America).

The book about Tommy Hilfiger’s life is set to be released this fall when it will also be the 30’s brand anniversary. The publisher is Ballantine Books, from Random House, New York City.

For this spring, Tommy Hilfiger collection mixes rock-and-roll style with the attitude, and “I DO HILFIGER rockthelove” campaign is unique. “This season, The Hilfigers are celebrating a family wedding in their own style. The idea was inspired by my own family and by the brand’s spirit”, said the designer.
